Query Language

The text search engine allows queries to be formed from queries containing the keywords AND, OR, and NOT, and grouped with parentheses.    Examples are provided next:

portrait  linen

finds documents containing 'portrait' or 'linen'.

portrait  or  linen

same as above.

portrait  and  linen

finds documents containing both 'portrait' and 'linen'.

portrait  not  linen

finds documents containing 'portrait' but not 'linen'.

(portrait  not  linen)  and   print

finds documents containing 'print', plus 'portrait' but not 'linen'.

print*

finds documents containing words starting with 'print'.
